  Transfer of Technology of  “Paper Formation Analyser” and“Infragauge System for 

      On-line Thickness Measurement of Co-extruded Blown Films”:

 

The know-how of “Infraguage system for on-line thickness measurement of co-extruded Blown Films” developed under Department of Science & Technology funding and that of “Paper Formation Analyser” developed under Ministry of Information Technology funding by CEERI Centre, Chennai will be transferred to M/s .Erhardt + Leimer (India) Ltd., Ahmedabad and M/s RSM Electronics Pvt. Ltd., Chennai respectively on 23rd May 2001at the Conference Hall, CSIR Madras Complex, Chennai. The tentative programme will be as under:

Inauguration of Web Site of CEERI Centre, Chennai

A Web Site designed exclusively for CEERI Centre, Chennai and registered under the name www.ceerichennai.org    was inaugurated on 23rd January 2001 by Dr.S. Ahmad, Director, CEERI at CSIR Madras Complex, Taramani, Chennai-600113.

Technology Exposition on Paper Formation Analyser

A just developed know-how 'Paper Formation Analyser' (PAPALYSER), is available for transfer. This PC based off-line instrument can be used by all paper mills in general and small and medium paper mills in particular as a Paper Maker's Camera Eye at an affordable cost. The imported system costs approximately Rs.20 lakhs to Rs.25 lakhs. CEERI Centre, Chennai is in the process of identifying suitable entrepreneurs to take-up the know-how for manufacturing and supplying this instrument.

In an effort to create awareness among the Indian paper mills, CEERI Centre, Chennai is conducting a technology exposition-cum-industry-institution get-together at CSIR Madras Complex in Chennai on 23rd January 2001.

Shri P. Sudhakara Rao, Scientist-in-charge of CEERI Centre, Chennai will be giving Welcome Address and will be speaking about the Technology Exposition. The exposition is being inaugurated by Shri N. Das Sharma, Senior Director of Ministry of Information Technology, New Delhi. Dr. S. Ahmad, Director, CEERI will be presiding over the function. The know-how documentation in respect of the above technology is being handed over to the sponsor viz., Ministry of Information Technology, New Delhi by Dr. P.E. Sankaranarayanan, Former Scientist-in-charge of CEERI Centre, Chennai. A product brochure is also being released by Dr. R. Narayanan, Director Grade Scientist of Structural Engineering Research Centre, Chennai. Vote of Thanks will be given by Shri G. Prasad, Scientist, CEERI Centre, Chennai.

ELITEX-2001.

Ministry of Information Technology, New Delhi is holding the Annual Event of the Exhibition "ELITEX 2001" during February 5-6, 2001 at India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The exciting new feature during the event will be participation of South Asian Countries. The theme of the ELITEX this year will be convergence. The seminar, being organised on this occasion, will cover sessions on convergence of technologies, infrastructure, management, etc.

The Exhibition will focus on the technologies/know-how developed at various institutions related to above theme with the funding from Ministry of Information Technology.

CEERI Centre, Chennai will be exhibiting a prototype of Paper Formation Analyser and display panel of Alkali Analyser for Digester Control developed with the funding from Ministry of Information Technology.

Indian Pulp & Paper Technical Association (IPPTA) Seminar and Exhibition.

The First Annual Seminar of the Millennium (2000-2001) is being organised by Indian Pulp & Paper Technical Association, CPPRI Campus, Saharanpur at New Delhi during March 16-17, 2001 on thetopic "Challenges and Options before Indian Pulp & Paper Industry".

CEERI Centre, Chennai has plans to present a paper and exhibit a prototype of Paper Formation Analyser developed with the funding from Ministry of Information Technology to promote the product and create awareness.
