DESCRIPTION
Consistency is one of the important process variables in the pulp and paper industry, which is a measure of fiber flow from the total mass flow. Monitoring and controlling of this process variable is of great importance because, the quality of the produced paper can be improved only if uniform good quality pulp is fed to the paper machine. Also process efficiency and the ease of equipment operation depends largely on the value and uniformity of consistency of the pulp and stock supply.
The STOCOMON is intended for real-time monitoring and controlling consistency of pulp/stock in pulp and paper industry to obtain good quality of paper with uniform thickness and basis weight. The range of this instrument is from 2% to 8%. The instrument is an indigenous one and has the capability to continuously monitor consistency of slurry/stock in real time. This naturally allows closed loop control appropriate parameters in pulp and paper industry. It also has a large dynamic range and better resolution. It is simple in construction and hence can be produced at low cost. Facilities have been provided to monitor the temperature of the slurry/stock continuously and 4-20 mA output for control purpose.
Application and end user:
Pulp & paper industry - High consistency monitoring and control. This system can be used to measure and control the consistency of slurry/stock at specific stages to ensure the quality of paper produced.

FEATURES
Continuously monitors consistency in real time
Capability to monitor temperature of pulp stock continuously
Simple construction and hence can be produced at low cost with indigenous components
With minor modifications, it can be appropriately used in other process industries also.
Adaptability to centralized control in industry
