Key Areas of R&D

Speech processing, development of speech data bases for Indian languages, Acoustic-phonetic studies of Hindi and Development of High quality text to speech synthesis systems 

The following projects successfully completed:

1.       A task specific digital data base of 200 Hindi words for the development of voice operated railway reservation enquiry system. (Sponsored by TIFR, Bombay)

2.       Acoustic-Phonetic Studies and creation of most frequently occurring 1000 Hindi words database. (Sponsored by MIT, New Delhi))

3.       Development of PC(AT) based Text to Speech System with High quality Synthesis of Hindi Speech.  (Sponsored by MIT, New Delhi))

4.       Development of Phonetically Rich Hindi Speech Database. (Sponsored by MIT, New Delhi))

Deputed to Germany under the DAAD fellowship program and worked at Dreittes Physikalishes Institute, University of Goettingen, Goettingen.

Development of Real Time Image Processing System

Presently working on design and development of DSP-FPGA based real time image processing hardware and software.
