The strength properties of paper can be varied over broad ranges by changing machine
and process variables during production
It is possible to predict strength properties of paper by measuring elastic properties.
With this in view a PC /microprocessor based instrumentation for the measurement of
elastic constant of paper was designed and developed.
From the elastic constant value, the instrument is calibrated to
give tensile strength and breaking length of paper.
